Janum was educated at the Funen Academy of Fine Arts 1987-92 and works with sculpture, painting, graphics, performance/installation/land art.

His sculptures are very original. They are often made of contrasting materials such as white Carrara marble and black Diabas granite, and the form is often contrasted by, for example, a geometric element and one or more uneasy fracture surfaces.

Janum has exhibited in numerous places at home and abroad, and has carried out a number of decoration projects, including for Platanhaven, Funen County, Odense 1994, Odense University Hospital 2002 and 2004 and Fåborg Hospital 2005.
