Jens Ingvard Hansen was born and raised in Tåsinge.

He has always been fascinated by the raw power that nature holds, and when asked to draw inspiration from his home region, he does not mention the green meadows and the sea, but rather the change in the sawn wood from smooth surface to rough bark and the different structures in the surface of broken fieldstones.

“Above all, it is important to me to create a sculpture that is exciting to look at and that in its own way challenges the viewer. I like working non-figuratively because it allows people to create their own narratives that fit their own history or life.”
