“I work within the fields of naturalism, portraiture and magical realism. In my sculptures I try to capture the beauty of the moment. Portraiture is a very special area of interest. Trying to understand and then convey the psyche of the person portrayed through modeling the face and stature, in an expression that is particularly characteristic of the model. With magical realism you get the opportunity to give your expression an extra dimension, to express something substantial in the field of tension between reality and a cultural superstructure of ideas, history, philosophy and interpersonal relationships.”
